UberPRIDE, Uber’s LGBT employee resource group, cordially invites you to a panel discussion on the rights and experiences of transgender / non-conforming customers, employees and leaders in Tech.

The panel includes leaders and allies of the trans community, including Uber employees. Topics will include the state of trans rights in America, the experiences of trans employees in tech, and how tech is helping to meet the needs of trans users and and customers.

Guest Bios

Clair Farley, is a trans advocate and Director of Economic Development at the San Francisco LGBT Center. Clair starred in the award-winning films including My Life with Mode Media, Red Without Blue on Netflix and American Transgender on National Geographic. She works across the country and internationally to advocate for increased trans visibility as well as safe and equal employment and housing opportunities for LGBTQ people. Follow Clair on Twitter.

Lydia Fernandez, Engineer at Uber. After graduating college in 2014, Lydia came out as a trans woman shortly before moving from the east coast to start her career. She's currently an engineer working on mapping at Uber. When she isn't staring at maps for work she spends time learning to play the piano and as an amateur lighting artist.

Bernard Coleman is the Global Head of Diversity & Inclusion at Uber. Before joining the Uber team, he led the Diversity and HR initiatives at the Hillary for President campaign, including the campaign's diversity, inclusion and equity efforts which assessed the strategic diversity indicators and standards that ensure responsibility and accountability for achieving multiculturalism and cultural competence within the diversity and inclusion matrix. Prior to joining HFA, Bernard held senior level roles at the Democratic National Committee, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and the Society for Human Resource Management. Bernard holds an M.B.A. in international business from Trinity University, a B.A. in psychology from Hampton University and a Strategic Diversity and Inclusion Management certification from Georgetown University. Bernard is also a graduate of the University of Virginia's Thomas C. Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership.

Kortney Ziegler is the founder of Trans*H4CK, an award-winning tech organization that provides support and visibility for trans technologists and founders.

Marnie, who identifies as gender neutral and goes by the prounouns "ze" or "they," began working at Google as a Global Process Manager in 2014. Teaming up with their teammate Kevin Perry, Marnie launched a session called Transgender @ Google, an allyship training session, which has been delivered to Fortune 500 companies and to over 3,000 Google employees at Google offices around the world.
